Went and saw this a few weeks ago. It was fantastic.

Quick Update

The MP had a sweet little Mermaid Birthday Party.
It was very simple but fun, can't believe my baby is 5!!

Soccer ended on a beautiful day, we had a lot of fun with this!

The MP gave my hands some decoration

and some spontanious art happened while I was not paying attention
Those are mini-oranges they painted all over.

Most of my posts seem to go over on the education blog these days,
because my days are full of life with these two busy kids and we
are always trying to cultivate a positive spirit of learning and goodness.

In these two images they are excitedly waiting for Grandma to come
pick them up for a two night sleepover, everyone can hardly wait!

Mummies

We went and saw this exhibit at The Leonardo. It was amazing. We were all mesmerized and maybe a tiny bit frightened. Overall we loved it! And The Leonardo was a super fun museum for the kids. We'll be back soon I hope.

Museum Day

We went to the de Young and Legion of Honor this week
The UB and MP were so good, it was the first time they
seemed to be truly paying attention to the art and making
intelligent comments about the pieces. The MP kept saying
she wanted to sit so she could really get a good look and The UB
was impressing us with his observations... and he liked to stand
back to look at the large pieces, just like a little expert, it was nice.

The Legion of Honor is one of my favorite places in the city.
It feels like a church to me, so beautiful and peaceful, I want
to work there someday. I love the San Francisco book options
in the gift shop. I've listed a few favorites. Such a happy day.

Mural

The UB was going crazy over this one, wishing I could
get my hands on a smaller version to put in his bedroom.

Covarrubias Mural Now on View at the de Young

The Fauna and Flora of the Pacific restored and displayed for the first time in San Francisco since 2001

San Francisco—The Fauna and Flora of the Pacific, one of a six-part series of fanciful, larger-than-life-size maps created by noted Mexican artist Miguel Covarrubias for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay, has been restored and put on display in the Art of the Americas galleries at the de Young. The map will be on view through spring 2009. Two lectures by noted Covarrubias scholars will be presented as part of “Friday Nights at the de Young” on July 18 and August 1, 2008.

A few paintings from The Cowboy

My camera is terrible so the colors are all wrong...
but you can get the basic idea of what they look like.

This painting of Napa is so lovely, I can't wait
to get it framed and hanging in our new home!

This one is very big and oh so very pretty, she
is for sale and I hope she goes to a nice home.
We really love her over here.

all the rowboats

I posted this a few months ago on facebook... I still love it so much. I love this performance more then the other versions of her singing it, I'm listening to the song tonight and it's calming my nerves. We are in a the middle of some major life decisions and we are terrified... so right now for tonight, I'm trying to think about art and only art. The Cowboy has been creating some incredible works, stay tuned he will be opening the studio for sales soon.

Art

Blue Gray Day at The Legion of Honor.
Getting out of the car The MP and UB were just waking up.

We had to hurry before this exhibit was gone.

We did go in and see all the lovely paintings,
but The UB and MP prefer the run outside.

On the way home.
