It was so super hot. We spent some time at the park and some time at the beach with Tracy (she was visiting from New Jersey...we were sad her trip was so short) I spent a big chunk of time trying to talk her into moving to San Francisco.

Who said i love you first? I don't know? I'm thinking it was me?

Who is taller? He is...but I always feel like we are the same height, he has me by 5 inches

Who sings better? Well...I sing more often and with ease...but his songs are very funny so he is by far more entertaining

Who is smarter? Depends on the subject...we are well matched.

Whose temper is worse? temper? We are both far too relaxed to have temper issues.

Who does the laundry? He did the first two years. Ive been doing it this year.

Who does the dishes? I do (it takes The Cowboy 4x as long)

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? We like to change sides every few months. Currently I'm on the right.

Who pays the bills? me

Who mows the lawn? lawn? We live in San Francisco...The Cowboy normally is the one who sweeps the concrete.

Who cooks dinner? I do 80% of the time...but The Cowboy is a very good creative cook and he is much better then me at meal presentation.

Who drives when you are together? He does

Who is more stubborn? I guess he is...but I don't think of either one of us as stubborn people?

Who is the first to admit they were wrong? Me

Whose parents do you see the most? Sadly we don't see either very often but when we do it's pretty equal.

Who kissed who first? he kissed me first

Who asked who out? he asked me out after a few months of friendship

Who proposed? He did and it was a complete surprise because we weren't dating at the time.

Who is more sensitive? I am just by a little bit

Who has more friends? He is very friendly and has a lot more friends then I do

Who wears the pants in the family? We both wear the pants.

Happy Birthday Tami!

I love Tami's birthday for multiple reasons the number one reason is because I love Tami...we have been really close friends for almost 18 years and I'm really sad to live so far away. Today I wish I were closer to celebrate in person. I am however super excited for her upcoming visit next month...another reason I love Tami's birthday is because now Fall is official. We both love this season and I do miss being in Utah to watch the leaves change.

I heard an interview on the radio this morning with the documentary maker as I was driving home from taking The Cowboy to work...it was very interesting.

sunday visits

We went out to visit Tyler and Rachel in their new home...it was amazing and beautiful. The UB got to stay up late (8pm) he was giddy with excitement, he really loves these friends.
The above photos are taken from the poolside lawn. (Rachel and I were thinking the hot tub might be the perfect place for a future book club!)
The Cowboy and I are in love with this view of the Bay Bridge.
It was a really nice Sunday visit...Eric, Anna and Kim were also there making it extra nice.

We are all a bit sick today...The UB seems to have it the worst but he takes it well...he smiles and laughs and plays through all his sneezing and running nose. The Cowboy and I aren't taking it so well we both just want to curl up and sleep. However I just noticed it's a perfect blue sky day so maybe the beach will help?

over the weekend

This past weekend was a busy one...Kim had her beautiful plush baby shower at the St. Regis hotel. It was super nice. I got to swim in that gorgeous pool...it looks even better in person. It was a complete delight to celebrate the upcoming birth of little girl Marlo.








(actual image of cake...yes it was red velvet. YUM!) The Cowboy and I got to go celebrate Michelle's birthday. The food and cake were fantastic and the program was so great! More detail here on her blog.

(The UB was home happily being babysat by Julianne...so grateful he seems to really enjoy the chance to coo and smile at people other then his parents.)

Sharon only has a few more days (I think she said 21?) to go before having her identical baby boys Oscar and Owen. I went to her shower to celebrate tonight and it was really great. Sharon looks amazingly small and adorable to be carrying two babies! She is moving this weekend and we are going to miss her and the family so much...thankfully they aren't really going too far so they won't escape us with ease. We plan to visit more then once or twice.

China Beach part II

We loved it so much Sat. we decided to go early and prepared on Monday...however it was sadly a much colder grayer day. Still fun.

Friends came this time Ben, Heather and Kena.


Kena is 6 weeks older then The UB so she is very good at showing him new tricks like crawling, standing and cramming her mouth to overfull with watermelon.

The UB demonstrating another little trick he picked up from Kena today. He wasn't quite as keen on the experience of sand as Kena seemed to be but he did seem to enjoy it.

China Beach

We stopped in on a whim while out driving on Saturday and we were amazed that the sun was shining hot and clear on this San Francisco beach... it felt like Southern California. It was a perfect beach day and we were a bit sad to get their so late and unprepared.

The Boys

We have been going out every day...pretty much all day over the past week. It's been warm and beautiful here and it was our last full week before The Cowboy starts teaching again, it's been really nice to take full advantage of this city and time off.

He generally gives two reactions this one for those he loves

(I love this book because The UB insists on kissing the last page which is a mirror he gets so serious about it and he started doing it with no prompting from us...it makes me giggle)

shadow

Over the past couple weeks The UB has become fascinated with his shadow and our shadows. He loves to look at them to move around and try to grab them.
